I've been meaning to start blogging for a while now ... and here we are! My appreciation for these corners of the internet started in high school when I discovered Wait but Why. Then when I began applying to college, I got in the habit of religiously checking the MIT Admissions Blogs. As I finish up my M.Eng degree (7 years later 🤯) and prepare to enter a Ph.D program, I'm reading lots from academics at all stages of their career (Sandra Bae, Matt Might).
In particular, Matt's advice convinced me to finally try my hand at keeping a blog, and I'm going to give it a shot over the next few months. ChatGPT recommended the 11ty framework which has made it super easy, and now I have no excuse.
I have lots of ideas for future posts, but for this one I'd like to set some intentions.
-
I want to practice writing, so rest-assured dear reader all words written here are mine.
-
I want to document new things I've learned, even (especially?) if nothing remarkable came of it.
-
I want to reflect on career, but also
-
I want to share what I'm up to outside of work.
As this new corner of the internet is birthed, I'll leave you with some others I revisit from time to time
